Emily Saathoff, Adjunct Instructor in Music: Violin, joined the UNW faculty in 2018. A Twin Cities native, Emily serves as Concertmaster of the Mankato Symphony Orchestra, with whom she recently gave a solo performance of Saint-Saëns' third violin concerto. Ensemble performances include Minnesota Opera, Minnesota Sinfonia, Minnesota Oratorio Society, Minneapolis Pops, and South Dakota Symphony. Emily began playing the violin at the age of six, eventually going on to receive a violin performance degree from University of Minnesota in the studio of Sally O'Reilly. She has won first prize in the Schubert Club scholarship competition and Mary West String Competition, as well as second place in the Thursday Musical Competition. She also appeared as a featured soloist with the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra.
