Why get an associate’s degree in general studies at Northwestern?

If you have never attended college, you can earn your associate's degree in about 32 months by attending class just one night a week or taking available courses online.

You can grow academically and spiritually with caring professors who will share their faith with you as well as their knowledge. You will participate in class discussions with other Christian peers who have similar goals and aspirations to further their education.

After completing your Associate of Arts in General Studies, you may choose to continue and move directly into an Adult Undergraduate bachelor’s degree program. The coursework required in this program meets Northwestern's general education requirements for these subject areas:

  • Oral Communication (3 credits)
  • Humanities (6 credits)
  • Science & Mathematics (8 credits)
  • Social Sciences (8 credits)

You will learn to analyze, think critically, and develop effective written and verbal communication skills.

Some classes include:

My professors were phenomenal. The courses were rigorous, yet very well organized, which provided for strong classes.
