Why get a dual degree in pastoral ministry at Northwestern?
You will receive a bachelor's degree after four years and a Master of Divinity after the fifth year. The first four years of the program are offered in a traditional day-school format through the Department of Christian Ministries; the fifth year of the program is taught in an accelerated format (evenings or online) through our Graduate Studies Program.
Courses are taught by qualified instructors with extensive pastoral experience. When you complete this program you will be prepared to serve in general pastoral ministry or as a future member of a church planting team, ready to hit the ground running in your ministry career.
Because of the rigorous and accelerated nature of this program, we encourage you to discuss this opportunity with your enrollment advisor and our faculty team as soon as possible. If you desire to have a Master of Divinity added to your professional arsenal, you must first apply to Northwestern to be admitted and then submit a dual degree B.A./MDIV. program application. Dedicated scholarship funds are available for this program for qualified students and are provided in addition to the Northwestern financial aid package.
If you want to serve others, feel that you are called by God to spread the Gospel, and are interested in a career working as a pastor, this might be the right degree for you.
What will you learn?
You will develop a passion for God’s written word and be prepared to spread the good news to others.
